Tadoba National Park, located in the Chandrapur District of Maharashtra, India, is one of the oldest and most renowned national parks in the country. Established in 1955, it is a prominent part of the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve and is often referred to as the "Jewel of Vidarbha." The park is famous for its thriving population of Bengal tigers and offers one of the best opportunities in India for tiger sightings.
Apart from tigers, Tadoba is home to diverse wildlife, including leopards, sloth bears, wild boars, crocodiles, and over 200 species of birds. The park is known for its rich flora, comprising teak, bamboo, and other deciduous trees, creating a perfect ecosystem for wildlife and birdwatching.

Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrival in Nagpur & Drive to Tadoba National Park
- Arrival: Arrive at Nagpur Airport (or railway station), which is the nearest major city to Tadoba (approximately 2.5 to 3 hours by road).
- Drive to Tadoba: After arrival, begin your drive to Tadoba National Park. On the way, enjoy the scenic rural landscape of Maharashtra.
- Check-in: Upon arrival, check-in at your lodge or resort near the park. Freshen up and relax.
- Evening Safari: After a short rest, head for your evening safari (usually around 3-4 PM). The evening safari provides a chance to spot wildlife as they become more active during the cooler hours.
- Return & Dinner: After the safari, return to the resort for dinner and relax.
- Overnight: Stay at your lodge or resort near Tadoba National Park.
Day 2: Morning & Afternoon Safari in Tadoba
- Morning Safari: Start your day early with a morning safari inside Tadoba National Park (usually around 5:30-6:00 AM). The early hours are ideal for spotting wildlife like tigers, leopards, deer, wild boars, and various bird species.
- While on safari, look out for the tiger sightings—Tadoba is famous for its successful tiger conservation program and offers one of the highest chances to spot these magnificent creatures in the wild.
- Return & Breakfast: After the safari, return to the resort for breakfast.
- Relaxation: Spend your midday hours relaxing at the lodge or exploring the nearby areas. You can also enjoy a nature walk around the lodge with the guidance of a naturalist.
- Afternoon Safari: After lunch, embark on an afternoon safari. The park takes on a different look in the afternoon, and the golden hour is great for wildlife photography.
- Return & Dinner: Return to the lodge in the evening and enjoy dinner.
- Overnight: Stay at the resort.
Day 3: Explore Tadoba’s Wildlife & Birdwatching Safari
- Morning Safari: After breakfast, set out for another morning safari, this time focusing on the southern part of the park or exploring other zones that you haven’t covered yet. You may get the chance to see species like the Indian bison (gaur), wild dogs (dhole), and crocodiles in the park’s lakes.
- Birdwatching Session: Tadoba is a haven for birdwatchers, with over 200 species of birds including Indian peafowls, pied cuckoos, eagles, and various species of herons. Your guide may take you on a dedicated birdwatching tour to explore the rich avifauna of the park.
- Return & Relax: Return to the resort for lunch and a short rest.
- Afternoon Safari: You will go on another afternoon safari, where you can continue your quest to spot the elusive tiger, as well as other wildlife and enjoy the park’s beauty.
- Overnight: Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.
Day 4: Final Safari & Return to Nagpur
- Morning Safari: On the last day, enjoy one final morning safari in the park. This safari may offer the chance to catch a glimpse of any wildlife you may have missed during the previous safaris, or perhaps witness the morning routines of the animals.
- Breakfast: After the safari, return to the resort, enjoy breakfast, and check-out.
- Drive to Nagpur: Begin your journey back to Nagpur (approximately 2.5-3 hours by road).
- Departure: Depending on your schedule, you can either proceed to the Nagpur Airport for your onward flight or enjoy the city briefly before your departure.
