The valley is famous for its vibrant meadows, lush greenery, and a wide variety of alpine flowers that bloom from late spring to early autumn, creating a colorful spectacle. This 4-day trip will take you through the picturesque landscapes of Govindghat, Ghangaria, and finally to the enchanting Valley of Flowers itself, where you can immerse yourself in nature and serenity.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival at Haridwar & Drive to Govindghat

  • Arrival: Arrive in Haridwar, a spiritual city located on the banks of the Ganga River. You can reach Haridwar by train, flight, or bus.
  • Morning: After your arrival, meet your guide and group, and begin the journey to Govindghat by road (about 10-12 hours). The journey is scenic, with breathtaking views of the Ganga River and the majestic Himalayas.
  • Lunch: Stop for a meal en route at a local restaurant or dhaba.
  • Evening: Arrive in Govindghat, a small town located at the confluence of the Alaknanda River and Bhyundar Ganga.
  • Overnight: Stay at a guesthouse in Govindghat.

Day 2: Trek to Ghangaria

  • Morning: After breakfast, begin your trek to Ghangaria (approximately 13 km, a 6-7 hour trek). Ghangaria is the base camp for the Valley of Flowers trek and is surrounded by lush forests and towering mountains.
  • Lunch: A packed lunch will be provided during the trek.
  • Afternoon: As you trek through the beautiful terrain, enjoy views of the Alaknanda River and its cascading waterfalls. You’ll pass through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and deodar trees.
  • Evening: Upon arrival in Ghangaria, check-in at your guesthouse. You can relax and unwind, or take a short stroll around the village.
  • Overnight: Stay at a guesthouse in Ghangaria.

Day 3: Valley of Flowers Trek

  • Morning: After breakfast, begin your trek to the Valley of Flowers (around 5-6 km, 3-4 hours). The trek offers views of beautiful meadows, waterfalls, and the majestic mountains surrounding the valley.
  • Arrival in Valley of Flowers: Upon reaching the Valley of Flowers National Park, prepare to be mesmerized by the vast expanse of colorful wildflowers. The valley is home to over 500 species of flowers, including Blue Poppy, Brahma Kamal, Primulas, Orchids, and many more. The valley is also known for its biodiversity, including butterflies, birds, and rare animals.
  • Lunch: Packed lunch in the valley while you enjoy the surroundings.
  • Afternoon: Spend the day exploring the valley. You can take photographs, visit the various flower meadows, or just relax in this serene paradise.
  • Evening: After enjoying the beauty of the valley, return to Ghangaria.
  • Overnight: Stay at your guesthouse in Ghangaria.

Day 4: Return to Govindghat & Departure

  • Morning: After breakfast, begin your trek back to Govindghat (approximately 13 km).
  • Lunch: Lunch en route or upon arrival in Govindghat.
  • Afternoon: After reaching Govindghat, you can relax and freshen up before your journey back to Haridwar.
  • Evening: Depending on your travel schedule, either continue your journey to Haridwar or stay for the night at Govindghat.
  • Departure: Travel to Haridwar or your onward destination.
